Show Society Foundation

Supporting future generations

Youth education and development is a key priority for the Royal Adelaide Show and the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society, through the Show Society Foundation. Since its inception in 2007, the not-for-profit Foundation’s scholarships, bursaries and prizes support the next generation of primary producers and regional aspirants. They encourage participation, education, and excellence to help make sure that our food security, future diversity and regional communities continue to thrive.

The Foundation also supports a range of programs to advance this work, including the:

  • Junior Heifer Expo

  • SA Sheep Expo

  • National School Wine Competition

  • School Merino Wether Competition

  • National Soil Judging Competition

  • Rural Ambassador program

The Foundation’s education programs are continuing to grow and more than $700,000 has been awarded to these programs and initiatives to date. The Foundation has also gifted $2.1 million in Royal Adelaide Show tickets and vouchers to South Australian charitable and non-profit groups.

To continue the support and advancement of our primary industries, the Foundation commits to:

  • establish, maintain and provide scholarships, bursaries or prizes across all education levels to encourage and develop knowledge and skills in all fields of primary industry to predominantly benefit the community of South Australia

  • undertake activities and promotions to educate the community of South Australia about the importance of primary industry to the economy and social fabric of the State.
