Introducing our newest competition: Nova 919 Jodie and Hayesy’s Hobby Horse Challenge

Showcase your hobby horse prowess by competing in the Hobby Horse Challenge at this year’s Royal Show.

Gaining popularity in recent years, hobby horsing is a unique equestrian-inspired sport where individuals use hobby horses, also known as stick horses, to simulate traditional show jumping, without real horses being used.

Exhibitors (Riders) in the challenge must complete an entire course (6 jumps) with their hobby horse and will incur one fault for every rail knocked down during their time on course. Results will be based on time in which the rider completes the course, with the fastest rider taking first place.

With Nova 919’s Jodie and Hayesy joining in on the action, the competition is sure be a fun showcase of athleticism and creativity from competitors young and old.

The competition will take place during the Royal Adelaide Show on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:30am. Exhibitors can choose from two classes (exhibitors aged 5-17 years, and 18+ years).

Due to timing and space restrictions classes will be capped, so be sure to enter soon to avoid missing out!
